We read the poems as pieces of a puzzle, trying to put the people and their problems together. I found this book to be a very helpful guide. I don't want to spoil this experience for readers by writing too much here so I'll simply say that it's a beautiful story told beautifully. We also learn about their nuclear program, spying on America and their nuclear deterrent of diesel-electric subs equipped with nuclear tipped cruise missiles. A MIGHTY FINE BOOK WITH GOOD NARRATIVE AND FANTASTIC PHOTOS. The presentation is refreshingly matter of fact and straightforward, and presents an in depth but not over the top account of the project.
