It's because I was basically bored for the first half of the book. Windows, doors. I've been, along with most of the other Art History professors at my local universities, using Stokstad for many years. You made money when you were there. I am a Psychology major and I found this to be one of the most important works in the field. The book shows how a camera works on the inside as well as how pictures were developed in the dark room (complete with red light). Of course, I disagree with this, but this difference is in no way a turn off for me from this book. She is the poor girl at her elite private school complete with her shabby clothes, unbrushed hair and callous guardian.Sophie thinks things might have gone differently if she wasn't an orphan.
